2011 Scholarship Award

Director Rita Taca presented the Scholarship Award with Mayor Gail Coniglio and Ned Barnes to Samantha Pollack, daughter of Kathy Pollack in the Purchasing Department at the May 10^th Council meeting. Samantha attends Dreyfoos School of the Arts, is a member of the National Honor Soc., Intl. Thespian Soc. and National Art Honor Soc.  She has received awards and honors in Performing Arts.

She volunteered over 1300 community service hours at the Palm Beach Zoo, Christ Fellowship Church, and the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach. She has given 700 hours after school working on the magnet program’s theatre productions. Her technical experience in theatre productions include Hairspray, Noises Off, Crazy for You, the Last Night of Ballyhoo, Darkest Before the Light, A Christmas Carol, The Mousetrap, Beauty and the Beast, and The King and I at both Dreyfoos and Wellington Christian School. She will attend Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA to obtain a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theatrical Scenic Design.
